Greenleaf Advisor’s client, Intelligent Generation, a technology company that offers cloud-based solutions for managing networks of distributed energy storage systems, has been awarded a project to operate and monetize a 880 kW lithium ion energy storage system for the city of St. Charles, IL. Partnering with Convergence-Energy and Solar Power and Light, IG participated in the competitive process of obtaining the project in April 2015 when the Illinois Municipal Energy Agency issued an RFP for utility scale solar power. IG’s smart grid technology offers an economically beneficial solution over traditional solar projects and is the first software-as-a-service company to supplement the profitability and integration of solar power through energy storage for a municipal utility.
