Greenleaf Advisors is pleased to announce the Swimming Bear Company successful sale of its land holdings to the United States Forest Service for addition to the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest in Wisconsin. The transaction enables the Forest Service to further promote landscape connectivity, maintain and create refugia, maintain and enhance species and structural diversity, and preserve ecological function.
The property harbors a wide variety of neotropical migrant birds and Wisconsin mammals such as black bears, eastern gray wolves, beaver, and otters. Joining in recommending this transaction to the Forest Service were the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians, Ducks Unlimited, Northwoods Land Trust, National Wild Turkey Federation, Ruffed Grouse Society, and The Nature Conservancy. The Swimming Bear Company has been committed to honoring the legacy of its founder by protecting this land in an undeveloped state for future generations.
Greenleaf Advisors, a consulting and transaction services firm aimed at advancing a healthy and sustainable world, managed the transaction on behalf of the Swimming Bear Company.
